In an attempt to capture the heart of Robin, Ted declares his love for her. Once again, Robin resists and prepares for a weekend with his co-host, Sandy. Ted made a last romantic gesture which leaves their fate as a couple in the hands of Robin. Meanwhile, a fight broke out after heated Marshall discovers Lily spent maintaining arts program.
When Lily’s car breaks down on the way to a secret rendezvous, Ted changes a very important date for coming to rescue Lily. However, Lily drives off after a confidential manner, saying she was en route to an interview for a program of arts summer would derail her marriage. Despite the entreaties of Ted, Lily decides they should go to the end of the interview or she will always wonder what might have been. After several months, the matchmakers finally come through a match for Ted.
Convinced of Victoria is about to throw Ted accepts a late night call to place Robin. When Robin inquired about his relationship with Victoria, Ted said they were separated. As things started to get hot and heavy between them is Ted are then exposed and his theory of “nothing good happens after 2 hours” proves to be true. Meanwhile, Barney tries to convince Marshall and Lily that the best things are actually after 2 AM.
After a difficult start on the new job at Barney’s company, Marshall is in line to be accepted by its gross and heinous “frat boy” co-workers. Nevertheless, he soon realizes that staying true to himself and his relationship with Lily is what is really important. Meanwhile, Ted is convinced that Victoria is going to fall after receiving a “Let’s Talk” e-mail, so when the phone rings and it is Robin, requesting later in the night, Ted must decide between going to Robin’s place or waiting for Victoria’s call.
